INNOVATION NETWORKS

The concept of shared ideas and the development of a network for innovation is one of the founding concepts of Living our Future. People often credit their ideas to individual “Eureka!” moments but this is a fundamental misconception. Steven Johnson in the following video shows how history tells us more about the development of innovative ideas. His fascinating tour takes us from the “liquid networks” of London’s coffee houses to Charles Darwin’s long, slow hunch to today’s high-velocity web. It is through an organic network, an interaction of people sharing ideas, experiences, knowledge and collaboration that innovation is created.
