THE WORLD DESIGN SUMMIT
The World Design Summit – Montréal 2017 (WDS) is an international unprecedented gathering of diverse disciplines that will focus on the importance of how design can shape the future. The aim is to harness the power of design, to create positive change and sustainable growth.
Montréal will host design professionals, government and business leaders, industry representatives, media and NGOs from around the world. For 10 days, attendees will come together to transcend silos, foster cooperation and enhance professional development. More than a mere celebration of design, the Summit will demonstrate the tremendous power of design to create viable solutions to global social, economic, cultural and environmental challenges.
WDS will emphasize the importance of “interdisciplinary” design thinking covering diverse fields: ARCHITECTURE, GRAPHIC DESIGN, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, INTERIOR DESIGN, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE, URBAN PLANNING. Topics to be explored will include: Environmental Design, Aging, and Well-Being, Education, Green building, Sustainability, Certifications and Standards, Green Technology, Food and Design and Services to Designers.
Alain Dufour, co-Director et Secretary General (pictured below) of the World Design Summit Organization announced yesterday, during his presentation in Paris, that Maison & Objet, will also be a partner at the WDS; bringing the “savoir-faire” of this renowned interior design and object fair to the design summit.
The WORLD DESIGN SUMMIT is scheduled for Wednesday 16th October to Friday 25th October 2017 and will take place in the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, the city’s convention and exhibition center. Read more via the link: http://worlddesignsummit.com
