DESIGN MUSEUM – KUBRICK’S INNOVATIONS

The DESIGN MUSEUM, London,* is a fascinating exhibition and insight of Stanley Kubrick’ work, which looks at his films, design collaborations and his innovations. He was a pioneer in the study and use of new technology and design, incorporating his vision with masterly detail into often provocative but “avant-garde” films.

Kubrick was just as much an inventor as a filmmaker. From predicting the modern tablet and defining the aesthetic of space exploration a year before the Moon Landing, in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), to the use of NASA-manufactured lenses to film by candlelight in Barry Lyndon (1975).
